We get this question often. Like most dogs, Frenchies lose and regain their undercoat with the seasons. Some of our French Bulldogs barely shed, while others tend to shed quite a bit—it usually depends on the thickness of their coat. Due to their short coats, maintaining a healthy coat on a French Bulldog is relatively easy. We recommend bathing your Frenchie at least once per month, but also be aware that over-bathing French Bulldogs can lead to dry, itchy skin—sometimes confused with allergies. Monthly baths, weekly brushings, and a bit of fish oil will help to keep their coat healthy and where it belongs.
